Energetic Transition

In order to make the objectives of reducing air pollution and, therefore, more generally, respect for the environment truly concrete, Adriafer is committing itself to the direction of a progressive reduction of polluting emissions. In the near future, in fact, we want to aim at being the first railway shunting company to experiment alternative energy locomotives, an initiative in line with the European “Green Deal” which wants “drastically less polluting transport” by 2025.
Specifically, the interest is to convert some of our shunting vehicles from diesel to LNG (Liquid Natural Gas), thus reducing CO2 emissions by 20% and completely eliminating other pollutants (Nox and PM).
The next step towards complete decarbonisation will be the experimentation of hydrogen-powered line locomotives, the “keystone” in the challenge to the energy transition.
